Overview

BAE Systems Electronic Systems is seeking a Quality Technician for the First Shift Inspection Team at their Wayne, New Jersey facility. The role involves performing mechanical and visual inspections of electronic systems to ensure conformity with IPC610 standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform configuration of the MIDS-JTRS and MIDS programs to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, circuit cards, components, and parts following blueprints and other manuals.
• Examine layout and installation of wiring, cables, and components to detect assembly errors.
• Perform conformal coating inspections using black light scopes.
• Conduct mechanical inspections using hand tools as necessary.
• Work from specifications and instructions to inspect components and assemblies against quality standards.
• Identify and document defects and input data into appropriate systems.
• Inspect subassemblies and assemblies after rework to verify defect correction.
• Interface with engineering regarding technical issues and problem resolution.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year work experience.
• Soldering experience or solder inspection experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand process instructions and design drawings.
• Ability to utilize tools such as calipers, microscopes, and gauges.
• Proven track record of employing a customer-first strategy.
• Demonstrated composure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
