Overview

As a Ground Maintenance Technician (GMT) in a stationary role at Delta Air Lines, you will be part of the Ground Support Equipment team, specializing in repairs and preventive maintenance on various mechanical and electronic systems. The role requires proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and repair with precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure the proper functioning of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating industrial equipment and test equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating need, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Requirements

• Possess at least a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Be proficient in English.
• Ability to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
• Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Completion of a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have a minimum of three years of demonstrated ability.
• Achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.

• External applicants hired to work at JFK airport receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
• Minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $36.22.
• Eligible Delta employees based in New York City can be reimbursed up to $250 per month for specific transportation expenses.
