Overview
EZARC is seeking motivated individuals for its Apprenticeship Program to become certified Journeyman Ironworkers (JIW). The program includes training in various ironworking skills and safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Follow EZARC apprenticeship program to become Journeyman Ironworker.
- Learn how to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Assist with layout and erection of structural steel.
- Work with Journeyman Ironworker to verify material, measurements, and specifications.
- Work alongside a crew to perform the erection of structural steel members.
- Assist with rigging and hoisting of steel members.
- Learn cutting, welding, fitting, bolting, and fastening of steel members.
- Work at heights using fall protection equipment.
- Learn to utilize aerial lifts and other equipment.
- Maintain high standard of quality and perform quality checks.
- Maintain a high standard of safety culture.
- Learn to problem solve.
- Pass AWS D1.1 and/or D1.3 welding certification test.
- Take OSHA 10 certification after probationary period.
Requirements
- Previous education and/or experience in structural welding or related fields preferred.
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and welding tools and procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with shop drawings, engineering blueprints, and schematics preferred.
- Any OSHA/Safety certifications are a plus.
- Reliable transportation to/from work.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
