Overview

Our client is looking for a Mechanical QC Shop Technician to support quality control efforts in a fabrication shop environment. This role involves inspecting welds, piping, and mechanical fabrications to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds, piping, and fabricated mechanical components.
• Review drawings and specifications to verify compliance.
• Maintain weld logs, welder qualifications, and quality documentation.
• Track material receiving inspections and acceptance/rejection records.
• Coordinate third-party NDT/NDE testing when required.
• Support shop teams with QC processes and best practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical construction, fabrication, or quality control.
• Experience inspecting welds and/or working around welding operations.
• Background working in a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, piping, or welding codes.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, PDFs, etc.).
