Overview
Our client is looking for a Mechanical QC Shop Technician to support quality control efforts in a fabrication shop environment. This role involves inspecting welds, piping, and mechanical fabrications to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry codes.
Responsibilities
- Inspect welds, piping, and fabricated mechanical components.
- Review drawings and specifications to verify compliance.
- Maintain weld logs, welder qualifications, and quality documentation.
- Track material receiving inspections and acceptance/rejection records.
- Coordinate third-party NDT/NDE testing when required.
- Support shop teams with QC processes and best practices.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical construction, fabrication, or quality control.
- Experience inspecting welds and/or working around welding operations.
- Background working in a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ASME, AWS, piping, or welding codes.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, PDFs, etc.).
