Overview
The Plant Mechanic position at Texas Health Resources involves maintaining the efficient operation of the facility through equipment maintenance and repair. The role emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and a commitment to safety in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify equipment operational and maintenance needs.
- Implement preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities.
- Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records kept.
- Maintain plant safety features.
- Perform major repair on machinery and to the facility including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to perform rotating on call duties as scheduled.
- Perform routine mechanical, electrical, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, replacement of parts, and related plant work activities.
- Utilize the CMMS to keep accurate computerized records of activities, time, and materials required.
- Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment and utilities systems required.
- Healthcare environment experience is preferred.
- High rise building experience is preferred.
- Valid Class C Driver's License required upon hire.
- Good written and verbal skills to read blueprints, work orders and interact with staff, tenants, contractors and others.
- Able to use hand tools, electrical tools and others with little supervision.
- Requires the ability to travel, climb stairs and ladders to access equipment.
