Overview

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of custom power distribution systems in North America, seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on field service work at customer sites, focusing on installation and basic commissioning of equipment primarily in data center or industrial applications.

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings as required, including coordination with contractors and clients.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Perform basic testing of modified assemblies.
• Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to resolve product or commissioning issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, field installations, and modifications to existing equipment.
• Provide technical product support.

Requirements

• A technical degree or equivalent and 8 yrs+ of experience in a manufacturing environment, data center, or field service role.
• Experience with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3 candidates).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Willingness to travel (75%) and work evenings and weekends when needed.
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls system (required for Level 3).
• Military experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3).

Additional Information

• Training on specific equipment and commissioning process will be provided in Jacksonville, FL for approximately 4 weeks.
