Overview
The Electrical Assembly Tech position involves assembling electrical presorting conveyor assemblies and connecting electrical wires between components. The role requires hands-on electrical experience and the ability to work from various production documents to produce electrical or electromechanical subassemblies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical presorting conveyor assemblies.
- Connect electrical wires between individual component leads and other components.
- Cut wire to specified lengths and attach it to terminal points.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
- Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions.
- Use fine motor skills to assemble small parts with excellent dexterity.
- Identify and report problems to the group lead or manager.
- Perform 5S activities to maintain work area order and cleanliness.
- Access and follow drawings from the computer system.
- Participate in cell meetings to understand production needs and quality challenges.
- Communicate ideas to cell leaders for improving performance and eliminating waste.
- Scan on and off of jobs.
- Use visual boards for communicating challenges and receiving information on KPIs.
- Participate in kaizen and other cell improvement teams.
- Display professional conduct with customers and coworkers.
- Attend company meetings as required.
Requirements
- Two plus years of hands-on electrical experience or an Associate in Electronics required.
- Must be able to read work instructions, assembly drawings, and schematics.
- Willing and able to work overtime as required.
- Possess problem-solving capabilities.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask.
- Maintain composure in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment.
- Ability to work well with others.
