Overview
The Mechanic 1st Shift position involves providing technical operations support for high-speed automatic packaging equipment, requiring mechanical troubleshooting skills and adherence to cGMP production standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with various departments, including Operations and Quality, while promoting workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machine breakdowns with maintenance and engineering personnel.
- Operate packaging equipment to support daily operations activities.
- Help train and develop Machine Operators and new mechanic hires.
- Log data into process check sheets.
- Perform troubleshooting including sensors, setup and adjustment of online printing, barcode scanning, and OCR/OCV vision equipment.
- Verify the calibration status of measuring gauges including Temperature Controllers and related Thermocouples, Air and Vacuum gauges, and Timers.
- Perform all Preventative and On Demand Maintenance activities and document all activities per Sharps procedures.
- Correspond with team members daily and attend meetings when required.
- Perform preventative maintenance work orders and log completion into Blue Mountain.
- Set up various automated packaging equipment systems including removal of previous tooling and covers.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 4 years of industrial automation/packaging experience.
- Strong desire to learn new systems and expand individual knowledgebase.
