Overview
The Quality Assurance Aircraft Structures Inspector position involves inspecting various aircraft components and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Candidates must have a minimum of four years of relevant experience and must pass specific examinations prior to employment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect structural, electrical, and plumbing assemblies for workmanship and conformance to requirements.
- Conduct final assembly and mating inspections of airplane structural components.
- Inspect installations of functional units and systems, including operational checkouts.
- Reject unacceptable items and prepare documentation for their disposition.
- Inspect sealing operations on integral wing tanks for conformance to designs and specifications.
- Ensure final washing, priming, painting, and internal trimming operations meet engineering prints and specifications.
- Inspect final operational checkout of completed airplanes under simulated flight conditions.
- Inspect jig loading, framing, skinning, riveting, and shakedown of structural assemblies.
- Inspect functional installations for workmanship, clearance, tension, and alignment.
- Approve or reject items based on inspection findings.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in military aircraft structures quality assurance or related fields.
- Experience in aircraft assembly, structures, electrical installation, or hydraulics installation.
- One year of experience in aircraft finishes may offset one year of the four-year requirement.
- Completion of the LMASC Chattahoochee Technical Institute Production Inspection Training Course may offset one year of the four-year requirement.
- Passing score of the ASQ Certified Inspector examination may offset two years of the four-year requirement.
- Must pass the Lockheed Martin entrance Q&MS Inspection examination.
- Ability to satisfy requirements within the Human Factors Assessment.

- The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
