Overview

The Pipe Welder position at Olin Corporation involves inspecting, repairing, installing, adjusting, and maintaining equipment related to pipe welding. Olin Corporation, established in 1892, is a leader in chemicals manufacturing and ammunition, employing around 8,000 team members globally.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical issues, determining repair methods and material needs.
  • Performs electric and acetylene welding on carbon steel and alloys to x-ray standards.
  • Uses CMMS for daily tasks.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment, piping, valves, and fittings.
  • Responds to service calls, reads prints, completes maintenance reports, and maintains a clean work area.
  • Operates welding and cutting equipment, power and hand tools, measuring devices, and mechanical systems.
  • Prioritizes safety and environmental stewardship, reporting near misses/incidents.
  • Works in hazardous conditions and lifts up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years pipe welding work experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Journeylevel Welder designation preferred.
  • A complete employment application detailing at least 5 years of pipe welding work experience is required.
  • Must be able to work overtime and call-ins as needed.
  • Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math, and problem-solving.
  • Able to pass a functional physical test and use standard safety equipment.
  • Able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights.
  • Able to work in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Pass a physical, drug screen, and background check if job offer is received and accepted.
