Overview
The Welding Sales Specialist at Matheson is responsible for profitably increasing sales of welding gas solutions, products, and services within a defined geography. The role involves identifying and closing sales opportunities, providing support and training to customers and the sales team, and maintaining technical knowledge in welding technologies.
Responsibilities
- Increase Matheson's sales of welding gas solutions, products, and services.
- Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities primarily with new customers.
- Champion the MATHESON SelectPRO Program for Metal Fabrication and Welding Application Process Optimization.
- Provide tools, training, knowledge, technical support, and materials to customers and the sales team.
- Continuously upgrade selling skills and technical/product knowledge.
- Sustain in-depth technical knowledge and supplier relationships to match customer needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of prior welding industry experience.
- Prior sales experience required; prior technical sales experience preferred.
- Must pass the Certified Welding Sales Representative (CWSR) and Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) exams from the American Welding Society (AWS).
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 60% regional travel required.
