Overview

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees across the United States. They are seeking a Combo Welder in Metropolis, IL, to lay out, fit, and weld components for structural forms.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components.
• Assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, and building parts.
• Select equipment and plan layout for assembly and welding.
• Bolt, clamp, tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts using various methods.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.

Requirements

• Minimum four (4) years of experience in welding.
• Must be able to pass X-ray tests on specified welds.
• Must be certified as a welder.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must complete a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Must comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.

Additional Information

• Position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman.
• Employee may be required to climb ladders and scaffolds, lift 30 to 50 pounds, and perform various physical activities.
