Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. They are seeking a Combination Welder who will join metal parts using various welding techniques as specified by blueprints and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Use welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
• Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas.
• Adjust the flow of gas and air to reach the expected flame temperature.
• Preheat work pieces using a torch for welding preparation.
• Fill holes or correct mistakes in lead pieces and adjust metal work pieces.
• Check the weakness of work pieces and measure them for specifications.
• Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to disassemble textures.
• Signal crane operators to lift large work pieces.
• Use thermal-cutting equipment to cut scrap metal or dismount assemblies.
• Use hoists, cranes, and hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
• Choose the welding location based on metal type and thickness.
• Instruct and guide the flame or electrodes on work pieces.
• Join pieces together and add metal to develop parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• A Weld Test and a Valid Driver’s License.
