Overview
The Pipewelder - RTP position involves welding in various environments, ensuring high-quality welds, and fabricating metal products. Candidates must have experience in welding and be familiar with safety procedures and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Weld in different environments for mechanical piping installation.
- Perform welding in various positions with a focus on safety.
- Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
- Install and repair various equipment and components.
- Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
- Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
- Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or related fields.
- Familiarity with welding tools and procedures.
- Knowledge of engineering blueprints and schematics.
- Pass certification tests on Carbon Steel Schedule 40 Pipe, open root joint, and in the 6G, fixed position.
- Welds must meet ASME Sec IX Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
- Experience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- Ability to work in varying heat and cold conditions and in noise levels at or above 90 decibels.
- Completion of courses in construction safety.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Minimum of five years of Pipe Welding experience.
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
