Overview
The Pour Finisher position involves smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete using various hand and power tools, while adhering to the core values of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Teamwork, and Integrity at Orion.
Responsibilities
- Signal concrete truck driver to position vehicle for pouring concrete.
- Move discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
- Spread concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with a rake or shovel.
- Level concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with handheld screen and floats.
- Smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
- Finish concrete surfaces and rub with an abrasive stone.
- Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes.
- Mold expansion joints and edges.
- Sprinkle colored stone chips or coloring powder on concrete for finish.
- Produce rough concrete surface with a broom.
- Mix cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
- Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
- Maintain equipment and tools for long-lasting use.
- Operate all required equipment and tools for the job.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of experience finishing concrete structures.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
- Ability to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.
