Job Description
Overview
The Labor Pool (Clean & Grind) position involves cleaning and rough finishing surfaces of forgings. The role requires physical strength and the ability to operate grinding equipment to ensure the quality of metal products.
Responsibilities
- Clean and rough finish surfaces of forgings.
- Position forging under grinding wheel.
- Pull grinding wheel down against forging to remove projections.
- Reposition forging to grind other areas.
- Remove cracks in surfaces of ingots, billets, and forgings.
- Polish certain forgings to a 250 finish using snag grinder and buffing bands for NDT inspection.
- Perform dye checks on mults and blockers to ensure surfaces are free of cracks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months experience in an industrial environment required.
- Current forklift license is a plus, but not required.
