Overview

Trident Consulting is seeking a Safety Valve Technician for a client in Pasadena, TX. The role involves assembling and testing safety valves, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex components per assembly drawings and bill of material.
• Perform functional testing on assemblies.
• Operate test equipment in compliance with engineering standards.
• Calibrate and maintain assembly tools.
• Perform torquing of various components.
• Repair safety relief valves to National Board VR Code.
• Test safety valves with air, water, and steam.
• Read and interpret manufacturers' drawings and spring charts.
• Understand steam boiler operating and testing.
• Apply measurement and math skills to verify critical dimensions.
• Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs.
• Perform valve write-up.
• Understand pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API, and ASME standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years related experience.
• 1+ years experience with the assembly of safety valves is preferred.
• Experience working with dial calipers.
• Experience working with micrometers.
• Experience working with Consolidated products is a plus.
• Reading and interpretation of assembly manuals.
• Good communicator.
• Attention to detail.
• SAP familiarity (ERP systems).

Additional Information

• Work environment is very fast-paced and noisy with long-standing hours.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Workshop setting.
• 1st Shift: 7am to 3pm Monday – Friday.
• Overtime and weekends may be required.
