Overview

GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Shop Technician to join their aerospace team at the Chatsworth facility. This role focuses on hands-on shop-floor activities, supporting the fabrication, assembly, testing, and maintenance of tubing and piping systems for aerospace applications while providing excellent on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, bend, assemble, and install tubing and piping systems under senior supervision.
• Support pressure testing operations, including setup, execution, monitoring, and documentation.
• Assist with field work preparation and on-site support as needed.
• Maintain shop organization and implement quality shop control systems.
• Perform basic inspections, measurements, and documentation using shop tools.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite to log work orders and communicate with the team.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians on prototype builds and continuous improvement efforts.
• Travel up to 25% of the time for field installations and customer support.
• Adhere to safety protocols, aerospace quality standards, and company procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or certificate in a technical field preferred but not required.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.
• Willingness and ability to learn tube fabrication techniques and shop best practices quickly.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and eagerness to learn in a team-oriented setting.
• Excellent safety awareness and commitment to quality.
• U.S. Person status may be required for ITAR compliance.
