Overview
The Plumber position at LA Health Services involves performing journey-level plumbing work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. LA Health Services is part of LA County's integrated healthcare system, serving millions of residents with a commitment to providing extraordinary care.
Responsibilities
- Locates and removes stoppage in waste lines.
- Installs piping for hot and cold water, waste sewage, vent and leader lines, gas, compressed air, etc.
- Trains and provides technical supervision for apprentices or helpers.
- Maintains tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade in a safe, working condition.
- Drives automotive equipment to and from work sites to transport tools, equipment, and materials.
- Installs or assembles fixtures and appliances connected to plumbing and drainage systems.
- Determines reasons for operating malfunctions in piping systems and makes appropriate repairs.
- Performs welding and soldering work connected with plumbing.
- Records and maintains all required documentation mandated by regulatory agencies.
- Procures vendors to perform services and maintenance.
- Inspects water mains, fire hydrants, service lines, fire hoses, and fire extinguishers when necessary.
- Installs and inspects piping of all types of materials subject to the plumbing code.
- Orders and maintains stock of materials and supplies.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized plumber apprenticeship training program or five years of experience in plumbing construction, installation, alteration, or repair work.
- A valid California Class C Driver License is required.
- Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City Certification of Registration as a Journey Plumber is required.
- A City of Los Angeles Regulation 4 Certificate may be required for testing Life/Safety systems.
- A State of California Fire Extinguisher Test Certificate and/or Grade II Water Treatment Operator License and/or Grade III Distributions License may be required.
Additional Information
