Overview

Carlton Forge Works produces seamless rolled rings and forgings for various industries including aerospace and nuclear. The Forge Helper assists in the fabrication of forged products by supporting the forging crew and production of parts.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of each member of the press or hammer crew.
  • Read and comprehend shop travelers, operating procedures, and production reports.
  • Sweep dies, operate furnace controls, clean and lubricate dies, and operate tools for setting dies.
  • Gain knowledge of materials and forging practices after training.
  • Set up and use impression stamps.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Comply with company conduct requirements and safety rules.
  • Request clarification on company policies when uncertain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant certificate of completion from a technical school preferred.
  • Experience in the forge industry is highly preferred.
  • 1+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
