Overview

Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials. The General Maintenance position is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with general tasks around the worksite, requiring little to no prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents.
• Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment.
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as removing debris from machines.
• Ensure all necessary tools and materials are available before starting maintenance tasks.
• Follow instructions and work plans for efficient transportation of materials.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure safe movement of materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, preferably around heavy equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with others and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to climb equipment and handle heavy loads.
