Overview

Linde Inc. is seeking a Production Technician in East Chicago, IN, to work in a 24/7 environment. The role involves operating and monitoring equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency, and training new employees.

Responsibilities

• Work 12 hour rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 environment.
• Start and shut down equipment and processes.
• Monitor and adjust equipment and plant process operating parameters.
• Perform valve line-ups correctly.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance work including lock-out-tag-out.
• Permit maintenance work safely.
• Use professional judgment to operate the facility safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Develop procedures and train new employees.
• Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• More than two years of Production Operations experience or an Associates Degree with previous internship in Plant Operations.
• Strong interest in and experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, meters, and instrument calibration equipment.
• Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors.
• Ability to climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs., and work at heights.
• Associates Degree or higher is preferred.
