Overview
Generant, founded in the early 1930s and headquartered in Butler, NJ, designs and manufactures valves and pressure regulators for various industries, focusing on Industrial Gases, Medical Gases, Energy, and Chemicals. The Assembler role involves assembling and testing components into finished goods while adhering to engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts using basic tools in a timely manner
- Test assembled parts using water, air, or gas pressure
- Visually inspect parts during the assembly process
- Perform duties such as engraving and packaging
- Maintain accurate counts of items assembled
- Keep work area clean, neat, and organized
- Be exceptionally detail-oriented
- Use a tablet system to receive and update work orders
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Perform the job with minimal supervision
- Complete other assignments as required by the Assembly Manager and Assistant Assembly Manager
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)
- Ability to interpret diagrams
- Comprehend basic engineering concepts and units of measure (pressure, length, flow rate, etc.)
- Read and comprehend work-related materials, instructions, and documentation in English
- Communicate effectively in English with team members and supervisors
- Follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English
- Understand and complete verbal and written training materials in English
- Frequently lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, and see, talk, and hear
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Additional Information
- Assembler may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration
