The Melt Shop Helper AZ2 role involves supporting the liquid process team with a focus on safety and efficiency in steelmaking operations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
• Replenish Melt Shop consumables.
• Operate mobile equipment as needed.
• Fill in as Scrap Crane Operator and Second Helper when required.
• Communicate effectively about production issues and needs.
• Complete equipment inspection reports each shift.
• Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties in the work area.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and communication.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Stand for the duration of the shift and engage in frequent physical activity.

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with exposure to temperature extremes, chemicals, dust, and noise.
• Basic computer skills.
• Dependability in attendance and work completion.
• Flexibility to meet business needs.
• Ability to learn quickly and multitask.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Some overtime will be required.
• Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
