Overview

Talon Industries, Inc. is a specialty construction company founded in North Texas in 1997, focusing on welded fuel piping for aviation fueling systems, oil and gas terminals, and glycol systems. The Construction Estimator, Fuel Piping role is a full-time, on-site position responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for welded fuel-piping projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for welded fuel-piping projects.
• Review plans and specifications and perform quantity take-offs.
• Develop proposals for aviation fueling systems and related facilities.
• Analyze project scope and gather supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Support budgeting and cost control.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate pricing and constructability.
• Maintain up-to-date cost data and participate in bid reviews.
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and clients regarding estimate assumptions, risks, and value-engineering options.
• Conduct occasional site visits to assess project conditions and support project planning.

Requirements

• Ability to perform Construction Estimating for fuel-piping and industrial construction projects, including detailed Quantity Take-offs.
• Strong Cost Management and Budgeting skills.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with project teams, vendors, and clients.
• Experience with construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation related to piping and fueling systems.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
• Knowledge of fuel-piping, mechanical, or industrial construction practices; previous experience in aviation fueling or oil & gas projects is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
