Overview

MasTec Utility Services delivers critical infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers, specializing in overhead and underground electric distribution and gas distribution construction. The Gas Skilled Laborer/Groundman supports the crew in the installation and repair of gas lines, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the crew by assisting with the installation and repair of gas lines.
• Gather materials for the job and ensure the crew has everything required.
• Distribute material at the job site.
• Hand locate existing utilities.
• Hand grade landscape areas.
• Safely operate equipment such as rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, and trencher.
• Utilize equipment after the Operator digs the ditch line for gas mains.
• Lift heavy natural gas pipelines for installation when needed.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of gas utility construction experience.
• 2 or more years of gas utility construction experience preferred.
