Overview

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group is a $2 billion business unit providing construction services for various industrial facilities. The Structural Welder Journeyman will join metal components using multiple welding processes while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Follow project specifications and Quality Control program documents.
  • Perform various types of welds based on project needs.
  • Field install welds for structural components and piping.
  • Select proper fillers for welding tasks.
  • Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
  • Assist pipe fitters with measurements and material preparation.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding issues, materials, and hazards.
  • Work under production schedule pressure and attain accuracy standards.
  • Perform duties safely and as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Common sense understanding to follow written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.

Additional Information

  • Full-Time position typically scheduled for 50 hours per week.
  • Travel required up to 90%.
