Overview

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for Fitter/Welders to join our growing team in our Clinton, IL plant. The role involves using jigs and fixtures to weld structural steel and other metals according to blueprints while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Observe all standard safety practices and follow all safety rules.
• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and/or final product.
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Maintain and complete all required records.
• Participate in safety committees and/or other initiatives.
• Complete other duties as required including helping to train other employees as needed on new tasks.

Requirements

• Applicable welding experience and/or successful completion of weld training and education.
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred.
• Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances is required.
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders is required.
• Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required.
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.

• Pay range $27.50 to $30.00+/hour - Commensurate with Experience
