Overview
Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials. As a Field Welder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and quality in the construction and repair of equipment while contributing to impactful projects across the country.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation.
- Travel extensively across the state of Alabama and potentially to other states.
- Inspect and diagnose repair and maintenance of mobile and plant equipment.
- Plan, organize, weld, fit, and layout construction and repair jobs from blueprints.
- Fabricate structural components according to company standards.
- Weld materials in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Cut materials using air arcs, burning rods, and acetylene/oxygen cutting torches.
- Perform welding repair and maintenance to production-related equipment and structures.
- Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs.
- Problem solve and make independent decisions regarding weld draws while fabricating.
Requirements
- 15 years of Fabrication Experience.
- Must have welding experience.
- Must be able to perform brazing, welding, arc welding, and cutting tasks.
- Must have extensive knowledge of fitting, welding, and fabrication finishing accuracy.
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
