Overview
The Machine Operator (Doors) is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to glue stations, soldering, and brazing machines for metal products and components. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and involves monitoring machine operations, inspecting work pieces, and following safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Turn and press knobs and buttons or enter operating instructions into welding machines.
- Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
- Load or feed work pieces into welding machines to join or bond components.
- Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.
- Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Record operational information on specified production reports.
- Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.
- Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervision.
