Overview
Austin Industrial is an industry leader in self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service, providing solutions to industrial companies across the U.S. The Boilermaker role involves constructing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries.
Responsibilities
- Examine boilers and pressure vessels to locate defects for repair.
- Bolt or arc weld pressure vessel structures and parts together.
- Inspect assembled vessels and components for defects.
- Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using various tools.
- Attach rigging and signal crane operators to lift heavy sections.
- Bell, bead, or weld pressure vessel tube ends for leakproof joints.
- Lay out and mark bending and cutting lines on heavy metal.
- Install various components in drums of water tube boilers.
- Study blueprints to determine part locations and dimensions.
- Straighten or reshape bent pressure vessel plates or parts.
- Shape seams and joints of pressure vessel sections for fit.
- Position and secure structural parts to boiler frames or tanks.
- Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates.
- Shape or fabricate parts to adapt pressure vessels or piping.
- Clean pressure vessel equipment using scrapers and solvents.
- Install refractory bricks in fireboxes of pressure vessels.
- Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirement.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial planning and scheduling.
- Certifications required: NCCER, a Valid TWIC Card, and Driver’s License.
