Overview

Ceres Environmental Operations is seeking an Equipment Mechanic Grade 2 to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and specialized machinery used in disaster response and environmental operations. This role is critical for ensuring fleet reliability and supporting safe field operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment.
• Read work orders and identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic malfunctions.
• Disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble engines and major equipment components.
• Perform preventative maintenance services to maximize equipment uptime.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment failures and develop effective repair solutions.
• Conduct operational testing following repairs to verify equipment functionality.
• Order and track parts, tools, and materials needed for repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Travel to project sites for equipment repairs and support operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
