Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of industrial, commercial, and educational projects with a focus on industrial facilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
• Oversee the structural design phase from schematic design through construction documentation.
• Make design recommendations and ensure the accuracy and quality of project deliverables.
• Establish and manage structural scope, schedules, and budgets to meet client requirements.
• Serve as a key point of contact with clients and contractors throughout the design and construction process.
• Manage and review shop drawings and coordinate field data collection activities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Handle multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer licensure in Illinois or Indiana or ability for immediate licensure.
• Structural design experience using concrete, steel, and masonry; wood design is a plus.
• Willingness to travel short distances to job sites.
• Experience collaborating with other disciplines.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Capability to delegate minor work to junior engineers or designers.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience using Revit, 3D software, structural engineering design software, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to drive, climb ladders, and work off elevated platforms.
