Job Description

Overview

RINA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Onshore Structures Engineering Department, focusing on clients in the chemical, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. This role can be based in various US offices or remotely from other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute advanced structural engineering tasks, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Support the development of engineering deliverables like calculation reports and construction drawings.
  • Contribute to problem-solving during design and construction phases.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Coordinate structural engineering tasks within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management System and regulatory standards.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy and adherence to codes.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors on technical aspects.
  • Support site inspections and construction-phase engineering services.
  • Assist in resolving structural issues during construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering or related fields.
  • Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license; other licenses are a plus.
  • Experience with structural design, analysis, and project management.
  • Expertise in designing and analyzing structural elements.
  • Proficiency in structural calculations using industry-standard software.
  • Understanding of construction materials and their strengths.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative working style with a solution-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks within project teams.
