Overview
COWI is seeking a highly motivated Junior Marine Structural Engineer to join their team in New York. This role involves contributing to significant marine infrastructure projects while developing one's career in a top consulting company.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks on projects requiring knowledge in structural engineering and marine infrastructure.
- Conduct structural analysis and design, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber design, and deep foundations.
- Implement design best practices and ensure conformance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and review calculations, engineering reports, and memoranda.
- Create construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Oversee construction administration activities and collaborate with company disciplines.
- Perform site inspections and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering; a Master's is advantageous.
- Engineering in Training Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- 0 to 4 years of related experience in marine/waterfront structural design, construction, inspection, and rehabilitation.
- Ability and willingness to travel and perform required fieldwork.
- Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills and advanced relationship-building skills.
