Overview
The Structural Designer position at the Headquarters in New York, NY involves conducting critical Structural Engineering analysis, performing technical reviews, and identifying and solving construction challenges for design-build and design-bid-build systems projects. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 4 years of experience in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical reviews of projects to assess constructability and recommend construction sequencing.
- Review and evaluate project specific designs and contractual obligations.
- Analyze elements of structural systems and identify means of optimizing design components.
- Propose solutions for design optimization and risk management challenges.
- Evaluate project non-conformances and provide guidance on operations issues.
- Document structural review activities in formal report formats.
- Establish effective relationships with internal project team members.
- Work in partnership with linked design disciplines to improve coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural) from an accredited program.
- 4 years of industry experience as a practicing Structural Engineer.
- Professional Engineer (Structural) license is required.
- Design experience on diverse array of projects through all phases of design and construction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with structural analysis software and BIM software.
