Overview
The Construction Operator 1 position involves performing basic, routine work in the installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters, and regulators, while adhering to safety protocols and company values. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with responsibilities including record-keeping and safety inspections.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures.
- Assists in the installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters, and regulators.
- May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
- Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
- May be required to hold stand-by duty and work shifts, holidays, weekends, and emergency call outs.
- Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues.
- Responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
- Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values and policies.
- Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual and complete all required safety training.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
- Must complete assigned classes, Operator Qualifications (OQ), and OJT specific to Construction Learning Path.
- Must obtain and maintain position Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training.
- Requires ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet for data entry and retrieval.
- Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers.
Additional Information
- Works outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures.
- May require overnight travel.
- May have residence requirement due to call-out response time.
