Overview
The Production Operator 3 position at Celestica involves performing moderately complex tasks related to the manufacture, assembly, repair, or modification of products in a manufacturing environment. The role requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work under general supervision, contributing to the production process while ensuring quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering and manual assembly.
- Set up, operate, and maintain custom and standard semiautomatic and/or automated assembly equipment and tools.
- Inspect products using visual, automated, electronic, and mechanical inspection procedures.
- Use automated and non-automated diagnostic programs for electronic product testing.
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues related to routine and/or basic defects.
- Demonstrate work methods to new employees.
Requirements
- Three to five years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or equivalent education and experience.
- Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
- General knowledge of product process flow.
- Knowledge of product quality and soldering specifications.
- Ability to recognize and communicate problems in the operation process.
- Ability to manually assemble components and produce high quality products.
- Knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to analyze equipment and systems within defined job scope.
- Knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn specific applications.

- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
- Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
