Overview

WSP is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer for their Dallas, TX office to support projects within the Property and Buildings Team. The role involves assisting with the design, research, and construction of building and infrastructure projects while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for project development.
  • Perform structural engineering work related to research and inspections of site conditions.
  • Assist in developing technologies and design requirements for safety and functionality.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance for structural soundness.
  • Write technical reports summarizing research findings and conclusions.
  • Support risk identification and assessment in design and construction activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution.
  • Assist with work plan preparation and site work coordination.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and infrastructure authorities on projects.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Understanding of structural and civil construction laws and regulations.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation.
  • Experience with discipline-specific design software.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety policies.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as required.
