Overview

Arup is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Structural Engineering team in Houston, Austin, or Dallas. The firm is known for its innovative projects in the built environment and emphasizes equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design structural elements and systems for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings.
• Perform lateral analyses of structures for seismic and wind loading.
• Prepare and review drawings detailing the systems designed.
• Complete design calculations for structural systems for permit submittals.
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and with architectural teams and contractors.
• Review submittals prepared by contractors and respond to requests for information.
• Perform construction site visits to observe the progress of construction.
• Communicate structural engineering designs to clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years related experience in structural design and engineering.
• Interest and experience in Data Center Design and/or Rail market are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of general analysis and seismic design software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to tackle new challenges.
• PE license required, SE license preferred.

Additional Information

• This role can sit in Austin or Dallas.
• The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is $112,000 to $129,000 per year.
