Responsibilities

  • Lead design teams and serve as Engineer of Record.
  • Create structural analyses and designs for materials like reinforced concrete, structural steel, and reinforced masonry.
  • Direct the development of models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review draft designs for compliance with regulations and sign off on completed designs.
  • Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Perform structural condition assessments and confined space entries.
  • Contribute to the firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs.
  • Review draft proposals for adherence to regulations and best practices.
  • Meet with clients to review their design needs.
  • Attend conferences to improve visibility of the firm's products and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
  • Mentor junior staff for future growth within the discipline and firm.
  • Supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Information

  • 20% - 40% travel required.
