Overview

Pennoni is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm established in 1966, seeking a Construction Inspector - NJDCA Certified to work at various locations in South/Central NJ. The role involves quality assurance inspections and materials testing at construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction work and perform construction materials testing at construction sites.
  • Monitor compliance with drawings and specifications for reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied fireproofing, soils, and foundation construction.
  • Perform field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, fireproofing, soils, and nondestructive testing of welds.
  • Read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate with engineers, contractors, and clients.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • NJDCA Certification in Structural Welding, Structural Steel and Bolting, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, or Earthwork.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Computer Skills: Windows-based software, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Willing to work in the field performing some physical work.
  • Honest, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work at heights for steel/welding inspection.
  • Able to work construction hours, which may include overtime.
  • Reliable transportation.
