Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners and coordinate with diverse engineering teams to ensure project success.
- Provide seismic/structural engineering support for advanced structural analysis and design.
- Develop innovative design studies and define project scopes.
- Create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss technical and project issues.
- Develop finite element models and perform seismic analysis.
- Perform Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis.
- Design and analyze concrete and steel structural elements within nuclear facilities.
- Execute essential civil/structural and seismic calculations.
- Perform design verification and peer reviews of engineering evaluations.
- Prepare high quality, error-free engineering deliverables and reports.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Support proposal development including defining technical scope and estimating engineering hours.
- Travel to plant sites to interface with client personnel.
Requirements
- Master of Science or Master of Engineering Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- 7 years of post-graduate experience with advanced structural analysis and design.
- Experience with ANSYS.
- Experience in the nuclear industry.
- Experience in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures, preferably at nuclear power plants.
- Thorough understanding of seismic engineering fundamentals and applications.
- Familiarity with major structural and mechanical systems and their seismic design basis.
- Experience in civil and structural analysis and design software such as ANSYS, GTSTRUDL, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines such as ASCE 7, ASCE 43, ACI 318, ACI 349, AISC.
- Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance.
- Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
- Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time.
Additional Information
- This role can be located in Kennesaw, GA, Fort Worth, TX, or remote for senior candidates.
