Overview

The Welding Specialist position at Power Partners (a division of ERMCO) involves welding metal tanks and components for transformer production. This hands-on role emphasizes precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions for welding and fabricating components.
• Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, maintenance, and shutdown of welding equipment.
• Lift and move materials that weigh 50+ lbs with or without assistance.
• Handle materials and use hand/power tools to perform required tasks.
• Ensure conformity of all welds and final products to standards.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions.
• Proficiency in using electronic devices like iPads or computers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic math, including decimals and small fractions.
• Capability to lift safely using proper techniques.
• Ability to use hands and arms to handle tools and materials.
• Accurate measurement skills using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Experience using tools like grinders, air chisels, and box cutters.
• Ability to operate lifting equipment such as overhead hoists.
• Capability to lift/push over 50 lbs and pull up to 110 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently; occasionally sit, bend, reach, or kneel.
• Good vision, including depth perception and focus adjustment (20/40 vision or better).
• Adherence to all safety rules and department-specific guidelines.
• Willingness to wear required safety gear, including steel-toed shoes and welding hood.
