MOR PPM, Inc. is a leading provider of industrial mechanical, electrical, and civil construction services for various industries, seeking an experienced Ironworker for a full-time position in Bennettsville, SC. The role requires knowledge of metal fabrication and involves various tasks related to construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Cut metal plates, angle iron, and other materials for construction projects.
• Choose appropriate materials for building new products or fixing existing ones.
• Build models and molds for casting concrete or other materials.
• Prepare metal surfaces through welding, cutting, soldering, grinding, brazing, and polishing.
• Examine engineering designs to ensure compliance with welding requirements.
• Use shaping and cutting tools for welding tasks.
• Assist in the production process and mold different fixtures.
• Use a gas torch and welder to fuse metal objects.
• Utilize welding devices for preparing new items and restoring damaged alloy items.
• Use hand and power instruments to complete tasks.
• Cut metal according to specifications and diagrams.
• Inspect completed products for quality.
• Assemble old units and perform modifications and repairs as necessary.

Requirements

• 3 years of work experience as a metal fabricator.
• Ability to use several fabrication tools.
• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically.
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must have strength and stamina for technical duties.
• Must be able to move in confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
• Must be able to hear and respond to voice commands and alarms.
• Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination required for working at heights.

• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required. Fire resistant clothing may be required.
