Overview

The Metal Fabrication Welding Team Lead in Grove City, PA, is responsible for ensuring the weld shop operates safely and efficiently while delivering quality work on time. This role involves coordinating people, processes, and materials, as well as mentoring the welding crew.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities for the welding crew and balance workloads.
• Enforce safety policies and industry standards across all welding operations.
• Check weld quality and drive corrective measures when issues arise.
• Coach and mentor welders to elevate skill, speed, and precision.
• Partner with project managers to align schedules and technical requirements.
• Track and maintain inventory of consumables and equipment so projects aren’t delayed.
• Run routine inspections and audits of processes and equipment.
• Compile operation reports and share insights and recommendations with leadership.

Requirements

• Background as a Welding Supervisor or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong command of welding processes, materials, and shop equipment.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Sharp problem-solving skills and a detail-first mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Welding certifications (AWS, ASME) preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in welding technology or related field is a plus.
