At Sabre Industries, we connect and power America's communities with world-class utility and telecom solutions. The Welder Trainee position involves performing production within prescribed codes and completing a Welder Training Program, focusing on safety, quality, and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Perform production within prescribed codes and procedures.
- Complete Welder Training Program by passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test.
- Knowledge of general safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Display flexibility and adaptability in task management.
- Understand and apply Sabre's quality expectations.
- Adjust welding machines according to welding procedure specifications.
- Use oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts for welding.
- Weld small components or assemblies using GMAW welding process.
- Clean weld joints and finished welds using various tools.
- Drill holes on pole assembly as required by drawings.
- Visually inspect work to ensure compliance with drawings and code requirements.
- Measure weld sizes using a weld gauge.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
- Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
- Maintain a positive attitude and get along with coworkers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Ability to read blueprints required.
- GMAW or Metal Core Welding experience preferred.
- Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift.
- Must lift, push, and drag heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess adequate hand-eye coordination and stamina.
