At Sabre Industries, we connect and power America's communities with world-class utility and telecom solutions. The Welder Trainee position involves performing production within prescribed codes and completing a Welder Training Program, focusing on safety, quality, and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production within prescribed codes and procedures.
  • Complete Welder Training Program by passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test.
  • Knowledge of general safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Display flexibility and adaptability in task management.
  • Understand and apply Sabre's quality expectations.
  • Adjust welding machines according to welding procedure specifications.
  • Use oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts for welding.
  • Weld small components or assemblies using GMAW welding process.
  • Clean weld joints and finished welds using various tools.
  • Drill holes on pole assembly as required by drawings.
  • Visually inspect work to ensure compliance with drawings and code requirements.
  • Measure weld sizes using a weld gauge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
  • Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and get along with coworkers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Ability to read blueprints required.
  • GMAW or Metal Core Welding experience preferred.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift.
  • Must lift, push, and drag heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess adequate hand-eye coordination and stamina.
