Overview
As a welder, you will play a key role in building high-quality components that meet the exacting standards of our customers. You will report to the production supervisor and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of welding techniques (1G, 6G, MIG, TIG, Arc) on metal components in various positions.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and shaping metal for proper fit and alignment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine welding specifications.
- Fabricate parts and structures according to project requirements using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed to meet standards.
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping to required specifications.
- Ensure weld quality meets ASME, AWS, or project-specific codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Keep welding equipment in top condition through regular maintenance and cleaning.
- Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and team members to meet production goals.
- Participate in training and certification for test cell operations and support team development.
- Operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other mobile equipment for material movement.
- Use business systems and computer programs effectively to access job information and complete job transactions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on welding experience, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
- Strong knowledge of metal properties and structural fabrication, including stainless steel.
- Ability to operate fabrication tools such as pipe rollers, beveling machines, and orbital welding systems.
- Experience with preheat, interpass temperature control, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT).
- Proficiency in pipe preparation, including beveling, root gap setup, fit-up, and alignment.
- Excellent measuring and math skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with piping runs and stainless steel operations (code compliance preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently under deadlines.
- Welding certification or trade school education is a plus.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to consistently lift 35 lbs., squat, bend, and perform physical tasks as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, based on business needs.
