Overview

The Welder position involves practicing safe working habits, performing high-quality welding, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires continuous improvement in product quality and collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis.
• Work towards continuous improvement of product quality.
• Perform all position welding following prescribed procedures.
• Position fabricated components in fit-up jigs and fixtures and use turning rigs when necessary.
• Ensure high quality of product and maintain good safety habits.
• Train others on safety practices.
• Comply with all documented procedures and employee handbook.
• Maintain quality and quantity of the finished product.
• Create and maintain a working team environment.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
• Ensure safety, quality, and production with limited supervision.
• Weld all products within the business unit.
• Cross train and fill in as necessary in other departments.
• Perform any additional tasks as requested by the Team Leader.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year welding experience.
• Ability to read assemblies and welds from blueprints.
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be trained to operate an overhead crane.
