Overview
The Welder position involves practicing safe working habits, performing high-quality welding, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires continuous improvement in product quality and collaboration within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis.
- Work towards continuous improvement of product quality.
- Perform all position welding following prescribed procedures.
- Position fabricated components in fit-up jigs and fixtures and use turning rigs when necessary.
- Ensure high quality of product and maintain good safety habits.
- Train others on safety practices.
- Comply with all documented procedures and employee handbook.
- Maintain quality and quantity of the finished product.
- Create and maintain a working team environment.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
- Ensure safety, quality, and production with limited supervision.
- Weld all products within the business unit.
- Cross train and fill in as necessary in other departments.
- Perform any additional tasks as requested by the Team Leader.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year welding experience.
- Ability to read assemblies and welds from blueprints.
- Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Must be trained to operate an overhead crane.
