Overview
Blue Origin is seeking an Aerospace Welding Specialist to join their team, which focuses on developing reusable space vehicles and systems. The role involves supporting robotic welding for the New Glenn rocket and requires technical expertise and a commitment to quality in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate robotic weld systems.
- Perform manual blend operations across multiple positions.
- Conduct precision drilling according to engineering specifications.
- Setup new production work areas including layouts and tooling.
- Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections.
- Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies through modification and rework.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Operate various material handling equipment as required.
- Setup and operate precision calibrated tools.
- Perform routine maintenance functions to support safety and cleanliness.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in manufacturing, integration, or a relevant field.
- Ability to interpret engineering models and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy items up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Self-sufficient and driven.
- Metallurgical knowledge.
- Expert level in fabricating and using hand tools.
